The legacy of whiteness: reflections from oral reports by white teachers

Resumo: This article aims to contribute, from the dialogues with studies on whiteness and the theoretical contributions of black feminism, to the field of Education. For that, we start from a qualitative analysis, inspired by oral history, and bring to the scene oral reports from teachers who worked in Basic Education. The data point to the maintenance of the hierarchies imposed by whiteness, and make explicit the racial marks transposed even on the process of flexibilization of gender inequalities. Teaching.Este artículo tiene como objetivo contribuir, desde los diálogos con los estudios sobre la blancura y con los aportes teóricos del feminismo negro, al campo de la Educación. Para ello, se parte de un análisis cualitativo, inspirado por la historia oral, y se traen al escenario relatos orales de maestras que trabajaban en Educación Primaria. Los datos apuntan al mantenimiento de las jerarquías impuestas por la blancura y explicitan las marcas raciales traspuestas incluso en el proceso de flexibilización de las desigualdades de género. Palabras clave: Blancura. Feminismo negro. Docencia.  O presente artigo tem por objetivo contribuir, a partir dos diálogos com os estudos sobre a branquitude e com os aportes teóricos do feminismo negro, com o campo da Educação. Para tanto, parte-se de uma análise de cunho qualitativo, inspirados pela história oral, e traz-se para a cena relatos orais de professoras que atuaram na Educação Básica. Os dados apontam para a manutenção das hierarquias impostas pela branquitude e explicitam as marcas raciais transpostas mesmo sobre o processo de flexibilização das desigualdades de gênero.
