Decolonial thinking as a strategy to face structural racism in the school context

Resumo: | This article, of a theoretical nature, seeks to problematize conceptual approaches to breaking with the epistemic silencing in the teaching space regarding Afro-Brazilian culture and history in the school space, from the political-legal confrontation. The process of social inferiorization of the black population is discussed under the conceptual of racism proposed by Almeida (2018), by placing it in structural conditions of society. As an epistemological alternative, we bring Paulo Freire's cultural synthesis (2005) relating decolonial thinking to anti-racist teaching. These theoretical constructs are capable of presenting alternatives to face the dynamics of racism and its forms of manifestation in the school space. In reaction to the breakdown of phenomena that built the situations and conditions of structural racism in Brazil, legal provisions such as Laws 10.639 / 03 and 11.645 / 08 seek to curb racism institutionally reproduced at school. Anti-racist teaching.Este artículo, de carácter teórico, busca problematizar enfoques conceptuales para romper con el silenciamiento epistémico en el espacio de enseñanza sobre la cultura y la historia afrobrasileña en el espacio escolar, a partir del enfrentamiento político-legal. Se discute el proceso de inferiorización social de la población negra bajo el sesgo conceptual del racismo propuesto por Almeida (2018), al colocarlo en condiciones estructurales de la sociedad. Como alternativa epistemológica, se trae la síntesis cultural de Paulo Freire (2005) para relacionar el pensamiento decolonial con la enseñanza antirracista. Estos constructos teóricos dan cuenta de presentar alternativas para enfrentar la dinámica del racismo y sus formas de manifestación en el espacio escolar. En reacción a la ruptura de fenómenos que edificaron las situaciones y las condiciones del racismo estructural en Brasil, disposiciones legales como las Leyes No 10.639/2003 y No 11.645/2008 buscan frenar el racismo reproducido institucionalmente en la escuela. Palabras clave: Racismo estructural. Pensamiento descolonial. Enseñanza antirracista.Este artigo, de caráter teórico, busca problematizar abordagens conceituais de rompimento com o silenciamento epistêmico no espaço de ensino quanto à cultura e à história afro-brasileiras no espaço escolar, a partir do enfrentamento político-legal. Discute-se o processo de inferiorização social da população negra sob o viés conceitual de racismo proposto por Almeida (2018), ao situá-lo em condições estruturais da sociedade. Como alternativa epistemológica, traz-se a síntese cultural de Paulo Freire (2005) para relacionar o pensamento decolonial ao ensino antirracista. Esses construtos teóricos dão conta de apresentar alternativas para enfrentar a dinâmica do racismo e suas formas de manifestação no espaço escolar. Em reação à quebra de fenômenos que edificaram as situações e as condições do racismo estrutural no Brasil, dispositivos legais como a Lei No 10.639/2003 e a Lei No 11.645/2008 buscam coibir o racismo reproduzido institucionalmente na escola.
