Creation and consolidation of the Graduate Program in Education of the Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa – UEPG (1993-2010)

Resumo: The main objective of this paper is to describe and explain the history of the Graduate Program in Education (Master’s/Doctorate) of the State University of Ponta Grossa (Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa - UEPG). Circumscribed to the years of creation of the Master’s (1993) and Doctoral (2010), favoring the reconstitution of some aspects of the creation of the Council of Teaching, Research and Extension (Conselho de Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão - CEPE), Pro-Rectory of Research and Graduate studies of the Master’s in Education and the process of consolidation of the Graduate Program in Education that culminated in the PhD in Education. From a set of historical sources, from the academic production and Bourdieu’s concepts of field and habitus, we seek to make explicit the actions of the academic community of the UEPG that resulted in the constitution of the Graduate Program in Education, taking into consideration that these initiatives were associated to the context of the policies of expansion of the graduate courses in Education in Brazil.   Keywords: Graduate Program in Education. Se circunscribe a los años de creación de la Maestría (1993) y del Doctorado (2010), privilegiando la reconstitución de algunos aspectos de la creación del Consejo de Enseñanza, Investigación y Extensión (CEPE), de la Pro-Rectoría de investigación y Postgrado de la Maestría en Educación y del proceso de consolidación del PPGE que culminó en el curso de Doctorado en Educación. A partir de un conjunto de fuentes históricas, de la producción académica y de los conceptos de campo y habitus de Bourdieu, se busca explicar las acciones de la comunidad académica de la UEPG que resultaron en la constitución del PPGE, teniendo en cuenta que esas iniciativas estaban asociadas al contexto de las políticas de expansión de los cursos de Postgrado en Educación en Brasil.   Palabras-clave: Postgrado en Educación.
