Anti-gender discourses and curricular policies from Ceará/Brazil: between tensions and resistances

Resumo: | This article addresses the anti-gender discourses in the educational plans from Ceará, Brazil, and how they cross school curricula. We examined the educational legislation of the ten largest municipalities in the State of Ceará and found, in the cities of Fortaleza, Sobral, Juazeiro do Norte, Crato and Quixadá, legislative projects that mentioned the slogan “gender ideology”. Until now, only the municipalities of Juazeiro do Norte and Crato prohibit, in educational legislation, any mention of gender and sexuality, under the premise of being ideological. We also present the ways in which the state curricular policy, through the Ceará Referential Curricular Document, is resisting conservative attacks, trying to promote a plural, fair and diverse education, which dialogues with the needs of the social movements of legal minorities. Examinamos la legislación educativa de los diez municipios más grandes del Estado de Ceará y encontramos, en las ciudades de Fortaleza, Sobral, Juazeiro do Norte, Crato y Quixadá, proyectos legislativos que mencionaban el slogan “ideología de género”. A la fecha, sólo los municipios de Juazeiro do Norte y Crato prohíben, en la legislación educativa, cualquier mención al género y la sexualidad, bajo la premisa de ser ideológico. También presentamos las formas en que la política curricular estatal, por medio del Documento Curricular Referencial de Ceará (DCRC) hace resistencia a los ataques conservadores, buscando promover una educación plural, justa y diversa, que dialogue con las necesidades de los movimientos sociales de las minorías de derechos. Ideología de género.Este artigo aborda os discursos antigênero nos planos educacionais cearenses e como atravessam os currículos escolares. Examinamos a legislação educacional dos dez maiores municípios do Estado do Ceará e encontramos, nas cidades de Fortaleza, Sobral, Juazeiro do Norte, Crato e Quixadá, projetos legislativos que mencionavam o slogan “ideologia de gênero”. Até o presente momento, apenas os municípios de Juazeiro do Norte e Crato proíbem, na legislação educacional, quaisquer menções a gênero e sexualidade, sob a premissa de serem ideológicos. Apresentamos, também, os modos pelos quais a política curricular estadual, por meio do Documento Curricular Referencial do Ceará, faz resistência às investidas conservadoras, tentando promover uma educação plural, justa e diversa, que dialogue com as necessidades dos movimentos sociais das minorias de direito.
