“Know and preserve” project: socio-environmental contributions to participants egresses from the Ecojovem ecological group, municipality of João Câmara/RN

For this reason, this study aimed to analyze the perception of the social and environmental contributions of the Project “Knowing and Preserving: The Socio-environmental contributions to graduate participants from the Ecological Group called “Ecojovem” in the city of João Câmara in Rio Grande do Norte” after 10 years of its conclusion. A questionnaire, using the Google forms platform, was prepared and became available between February 7 and April 15, 2017, and it was disseminated to participants through social networks. The characterization of the group took place through the analysis of the internal regulations of the project carried out in order to clarify the organizational structure and its legal precepts. 16 members of the group participated in the research. The contributions reported by them refer to a direct relationship with the affective and emotional memories, in addition to a meaningful improvement of the school environment in which the project was inserted. Another contribution to the city was also mentioned, it took several young people out of idleness and gave them the role of protagonists in a story that involved different relationships with the environment. The appreciation and recognition of the need to strengthen local public policies aiming the conservation of Serra do Torreão was highlighted by the participants.
