Curricular guidelines for teacher education: freirean praxis in perspective

Resumo: | This article addresses teacher training with the aim of presenting considerations on the assumptions that support the indications of practical activities in the current National Curriculum Guidelines for Teacher Education in undergraduate teaching. Based on Freire's references, the historical dissociation between theory and practice is discussed, concluding that utilitarian and pragmatic approaches prevail in the Curricular Guidelines, which dissociate from an emancipatory education. Adopting praxis, as a central category in teacher education, promotes the engagement of students and teachers in the fight for effective changes, with a view to a more humanized, democratic, and ethical education project. |

Este artículo aborda la formación docente, con el objetivo de considerar los presupuestos que sustentan las indicaciones de actividades prácticas en las Directrices Curriculares Nacionales, vigentes para la formación docente en cursos de profesorado. A partir de la obra de Freire, se discute la disociación histórica entre teoría y práctica, concluyendo que los presupuestos utilitarios y pragmáticos, que prevalecen en las Directrices Curriculares, se distancian de una formación emancipadora. Asumir la praxis como categoría central en la formación docente, promueve el compromiso de estudiantes y docentes en la lucha por cambios efectivos, con miras a un proyecto educativo más humanizado, democrático y ético.Este artigo aborda a formação docente, com o objetivo de apresentar considerações sobre os pressupostos que embasam as indicações de atividades práticas nas atuais Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais para a formação de professores nos cursos de licenciatura. Com base nos referenciais de Freire, discute-se a histórica dissociação entre teoria e prática, concluindo que predominam, nas Diretrizes Curriculares, abordagens utilitaristas e pragmáticas que se afastam de uma formação emancipatória.
