Resumo: In the world of carnival, memory plays an important role in the building of the relations between institutions and individuals. To investigate these connections, this paper aims at presenting the dynamics of memory in the samba schools of Rio´s Carnival and in the Cultural Department of  Salgueiro, by making use of oral history as research and analysis method to further elucidate the issues in this field`s mnemonics.
