Resumo: This article intends to approach folk groups and their interrelationships based on criteria and categories that hierarchize such groups in the context of their participation in the Cultural Meeting of Laranjeiras, a folk festival which has been held annuallyin the past 38 years on the week of January 6th in the city of Laranjeiras (SE). The hierarchization of groups precipitates inner conflicts and tensions that constitute and are developed inside the groups.
