RECEBIDO EM 19 JUL 2015APROVADO EM 23 OUT 2015Dentre a diversidade de monstros que fazem parte do bestiário da ficção de terror, um deles é pouco conhecido e praticamente incógnito à crítica especializada, ainda que muito popular em plataformas artísticas nas quais o medo se faz fortemente presente como modus operandi, de modo muito particular na literatura, nos jogos de RPG, nos card games e nos videogames: trata-se do lich, um caso muito específico de morto-vivo pertencente ao mesmo filo dos zumbis, mas que, diferente destes, adquiriu a imortalidade e conseguiu manter, depois de seu terrível processo de transformação, a consciência, a inteligência e o imenso poder que detinha quando ainda era apenas um ser vivente. Pretende-se, a partir de um breve resgate analítico da figura do lich na ficção de terror, especificamente nos suportes da literatura e do RPG, desenvolver a ideia de que essa criatura em particular é a representação imaginária dos desejos, indecidibilidades, paradoxos e ambiguidades da existência humana.//Among the diversity of monsters existent in the terror fiction bestiary, one of them is almost unknown to the critics though very popular in artistic platforms where fear is present as a modus operandi, like literature, RPG games, card games, and videogames: it is the lich, a very specific type of undead which belongs to the same phylum of the zombies but, differently of these ones, has become immortal and maintained the same consciousness, intelligence, and huge powers as when alive even after its terrible transformation process. Departing from a brief analytical overview about the lich in the terror fiction, especially in literature and RPG games, we intend to develop the idea that this creature is a particular imaginary representation of the desires, undecidabilities, paradoxes, and ambiguities of the human existence.DOI: 10.12957/abusoes.2015.20429
