Sociolinguística de Contato e Política Linguística: propostas de interseções teórico-metodológicas

Resumo: This paper aims to present the results of discussions and reflections concerning the theoretical-methodological intersections between Contact Sociolinguistics and Language Policy. To achieve this goal, the text shows the trajectory of both studies carried out in Brazil since the 1990s, as well as previous studies carried out in other countries. Among the key milestones mentioned in the progress of these studies, the terminological choices made, some of the main academic events in the area, the creation of working groups will be mentioned, as well as commenting on the importance and repercussions that these projects have had in Brazil, both scientifically and politically. This repercussion will be illustrated through a selection of articles, dissertations and theses written by researchers from the Language Contact Research Laboratory (LABPEC) who have brilliantly dealt with objects within the theme of Contact Sociolinguistics and Language Policy. The emphasis on the recognition of Brazil as a multi- and plurilingual country, the fight against linguistic prejudice at all levels, the co-officialization of languages in Brazilian municipalities, the observation and study of minority languages (such as indigenous and immigrant languages) were all present in the works cited here.

Para alcançar esse objetivo, o texto mostra a trajetória de ambos os estudos realizados no Brasil a partir da década de 1990, bem como estudos prévios realizados em outros países. Dentre os marcos citados no curso dessas pesqui­sas, serão mencionadas as escolhas terminológicas realizadas, alguns dos principais eventos acadêmicos da área, a criação de grupos de trabalho, além de comentar a importância e repercussão que tais empreendi­mentos tiveram no Brasil, tanto no âmbito científico como no político. Tal repercussão será ilustrada através da seleção de alguns artigos, dissertações e teses escritos pelos pesquisadores do Laboratório de Pesquisa em Contato Linguístico (LABPEC), que ricamente trataram de objetos dentro da temática da Sociolinguística de Contato e Política Linguística.
