SOBRE O ENSINO DA GRAMÁTICA NOS NÍVEIS FUNDAMENTAL E MÉDIO: POR QUE, QUANDO E COMO?

Resumo: This article argues in favor of the teaching of grammar in our schools from the fifth year of Elementary School based on the fact that such knowledge not only will be an important asset in the student education but it represents an essential condition to the study of the literature produced in other synchronies, which starts in High School. In order that such teaching be successful it is imperative that grammars and school books describe the norms which are present in contemporary standard writing and do not resemble the anachronistic prescriptions that have been guiding traditional teaching.
