The present study intends to understand the assistance benefit emergency aid, capturing its trajectory, from its implementation to its end, the political tensions, the subjects and the interests that permeated its creation, its renewal and its end. Therefore, a theoretical investigation was necessary which took place through a bibliographic review, whose objective was to support the debate that was drawn throughout this research. That is, bringing the historical bases of capitalist society and outlining the current political-economic scenario, with the continuity and intensification of the neoliberal agenda in the government of President Jair Bolsonaro, in the face of the deepening of the crisis in the country that was combined with the Covid-19 pandemic. This study is based on the method inaugurated by Marx, the historical and dialectical materialism, in which the apprehension of the movement of the real is central, so that, then, the theoretical abstraction can be carried out.
