Resumo: The objective of this paper is to investigate the limits of coping with the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil, in its first 180 days. The methodology used is bibliographic survey, to find gaps in the field of social sciences, and a discourse analysis, in a Marxist sense. The results indicate two types of problems: an organic, which is related to the condition of a country of dependent capitalism, which has a form of autocratic domination, which negatively influences public health; the other is the Bolsonaro’s government and its inertia in dealing with the health crisis. Also, the pandemic develops unevenly, reaching mostly the poorest and blacks / browns, showing the class character of the pandemic in Brazil. Finally, we criticize the limits of the approaches that defend the return of the Keynesian State as a solution to the crisis of neoliberalism that the coronavirus opens up.

Editora da PUCRS - ediPUCRS2022-06-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/fass/article/view/3930310.15448/1677-9509.2022.1.39303Textos & Contextos (Porto Alegre); Vol. 21 No. 1 (2022): Single Volume; e39303Textos & Contextos (Porto Alegre); v. 21 n. 1 (2022): Volume Único; e393031677-950910.15448/1677-9509.2022.1reponame:Textos & contextos (Porto Alegre)instname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUC RS)instacron:PUC_RSporhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/fass/article/view/39303/27499http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessNogueira, Kleiton Wagner Alves da SilvaSantos, Nivalter Aires dos2022-11-25T17:30:39Zoai:ojs.revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br:article/39303Revistahttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/fassPUBhttps://revistaseletronicas.pucrs.br/ojs/index.php/fass/oaitextos@pucrs.br1677-95091677-9509opendoar:2022-11-25T17:30:39Textos & contextos (Porto Alegre) - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUC RS)false
