Resumo: Due to the major instability worldwide as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the changes that happened compromise people's health, especially those who live with fibromyalgia and have comorbidities, since coronavirus infection leaves people with chronic disease at risk for the development of the severe form of the disease. Research question: Did people living with fibromyalgia and who went through health education workshops, with the therapeutic care group, managed to reframe their lives and remain healthy during the transition period of the COVID-19 pandemic? General objective: To analyze the health of individuals who live with fibromyalgia and who participated in the interdisciplinary therapeutic group in relation to quality of life, health, and self-care in the COVID-19 pandemic transition period. Specific objectives: To identify the aspects of quality of life and health of the individuals who participated in the interdisciplinary therapeutic group before the COVID-19 pandemic; to describe how the individuals who live with fibromyalgia and participated in the interdisciplinary therapeutic group perform self-care during the COVID-19 pandemic transition period; and to discuss the expectations and effects on the life of these people in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. The theoretical framework comes from Afaf Ibrahim Meleis' Transitions Theory. Method: This is a qualitative study, developed in 2020, with 21 women who live with fibromyalgia, participants in the interdisciplinary therapeutic group, from the Laboratory of Physiology Applied to Physical Education, of the Physical Education and Sports Institute of the Rio de Janeiro State University (LAFISAEF-IEFD/UERJ). The study was approved by the UERJ Ethics Committee under Protocol No. 41883220.4.0000.5282. The data were produced from the analysis of the medical charts and semi-structured interviews performed by video call. Subsequently, they were organized, analyzed and categorized following the content analysis method, according to Bardin. From the organization of the dice following three categories emerged: “Quality of life, health of individuals with fibromyalgia and how life was before the pandemic”; “The diversity of feelings and sensations in life during the COVID-19 pandemic transition”; and, “Resilience and Health Transition in pandemic times”. Conclusion: The health education workshops held with the interdisciplinary therapeutic group provided the participants with the opportunity to create new competences, skills and incentives to change behaviors in favor of quality of life and health, apprehending self-care and adapting to the current moment. The rapid changes in the lives of participants with the beginning of the pandemic, decreased the pace and quality of life of people, portrayed with the increase in pain, surrounded by doubts, uncertainties, concerns, fear, insomnia, anxiety and depression. And with the course of the pandemic, life was renewed and reframed, looking for new ways to live and act during the pandemic. The healthy transition will occur in the passage of people living with fibromyalgia through the process of changes instituted with the pandemic, by adapting to the new daily routines and facing the difficulties and reality of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The healthy transition will occur in the passage of people living with fibromyalgia through the process of changes instituted with the pandemic, by adapting to the new daily routines and facing the difficulties and reality of the COVID-19 pandemic. No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertação - Maria Eunice Amaral Dantas - 2021 - Completa.pdf: 3027040 bytes, checksum: 2584ee24adff2e9ed7b57cffb349dc4a (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2022-11-09T18:57:51Z (GMT). description Due to the major instability worldwide as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the changes that happened compromise people's health, especially those who live with fibromyalgia and have comorbidities, since coronavirus infection leaves people with chronic disease at risk for the development of the severe form of the disease.
