Resumo: | The objective of this study is focused on the conception of quality of life (QOL) and self-care of women who experience fibromyalgia. The general objective is to know the vision of women who experience fibromyalgia on QOL and self-care. And the specific objectives: To describe women's knowledge about QOL and self-care; To characterize the self-care behaviors of these women; To analyze the domains of QoL that are affected in these women; To discuss the repercussions of health education on QOL and self-care of these women. This is a qualitative research, with a participatory approach, developed in 2018, at the Laboratory of Applied Physiology to Physical Education of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (LAFISAEF-IEFD / UERJ). The research was approved by the Ethics Committee of UERJ under Protocol no. 95532818.6.0000.5282. It was developed with 12 women according to the following inclusion criteria: with fibromyalgia diagnosis, over 18 years of age, without distinction of race, color and religion, with comprehension capacity, oriented, independent and lucid to answer all the questions. Women who did not have the diagnosis of fibromyalgia, attention deficit, impaired cognition, and women who were absent from the project did not participate in the study. The data were produced in 2018 through the World Café technique and semi-structured interview. Data analysis was performed using the Bardin content analysis. From the analysis of the data, four categories and a subcategory emerged as described: Quality of life domains of study participants; Quality of life from the perspective of the participants; Self-care in addition to drug therapy; and its subcategory entitled: Expectations for the future: a desire for improvement The practice of health education as a dynamiser of self-care. It is concluded that the conception of QoL for women with fibromyalgia is individual and subjective, centered on well-being and a better life. In fact, fibromyalgia negatively compromises the QoL of these women, who reported pain as the main limiting factor generated by illness. It was verified that the educational practices in health contributed to the self-care and improvement of the QoL of women with fibromyalgia, and it was possible to analyze that the main concepts elaborated by Paulo Freire were very present in the activities developed by the interdisciplinary group of health education. |

Submitted by Boris Flegr (boris@uerj.br) on 2021-01-06T14:31:02Z No. of bitstreams: 1 DISSERTACAO FINAL_JULIANA PEREIRA RAMOS DE OLIVEIRA.pdf: 2951365 bytes, checksum: 808675adfd0dbdf315c1d5302e076975 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-01-06T14:31:02Z (GMT).
