Resumo: Created in 1882 by Sensei Jigoro Kano, Judo is one of the most practiced sports around the world. According to the International Judo Federation (FIJ) it is practiced by more than 20 million athletes, representing more than 200 countries. With great popularity, Judo became the Olympic sport that most brought medals to Brazil (22 medals). As it is a sport of intense physical contact, Judo is also subject to the risk of injury to its athletes. In order to analyze injuries in Judo athletes, the present study carried out a systematic review, following the PECO methodology, in order to find out which injuries have the highest incidence in this modality. A search was carried out in 03 (three) databases (PubMed / Medline, Science Direct, Virtual Health Library) where 725 studies were found, which after the application of the relevant filters, were reduced to 12 articles, which were included in the systematic review, and which were subsequently analyzed. Among these studies, the majority involved athletes from national and international level with the majority being from publications in Brazil. Of these studies, 50% were published in the last 05 years where the training / competition situation was the most cited context. Regarding the causes and origins of injuries, the location of the injuries was widespread in most studies, and the most frequent injuries were: sprains, strains, dislocations and fractures. Regarding their severity, the head / neck injury was highlighted in 08 of the 12 articles (66% of the studies). The methodological quality of these studies was verified using the CASP tool, which showed a moderate to high quality. It should be noted that 91.6% (11 of 12) of the analyzed studies had a negative answer to the question related to the rigor of the data analysis. Thus, the present study aims to identify the prevalence and incidence of the main types of injuries that have occurred in Judo practitioners.

Thus, the present study aims to identify the prevalence and incidence of the main types of injuries that have occurred in Judo practitioners. Submitted by Mirna CEH/B (mirna129@globo.com) on 2021-09-24T13:17:58Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Tese - Marcelo José Colonna de Miranda - 2021 - Completa.pdf: 2060074 bytes, checksum: dbf254a00eebfd01914dd01eaced5735 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-09-24T13:17:58Z (GMT).
