The present work brings an adaptation of literary texts by the cinema, mainly a re- reading of the texts marked as classic tradition, taking as a book the autobiographical novel of the Danish Baroness Karen Blixen (known by the pseudonym Isak Dinesen) in Out of Africa (1937) and the homonym film directed by Sidney Pollack with Kurt Luedtke s screenplay (1985). Thus, this dissertation will speculateabout the efforts of the method of discursive and imaginary strategies by Pollack (1985) in his recreation of the literary text for the demonstrative context of cinema (PELLEGRINI, 2003) in the process of medial transposition. In the intermedial perspectives, we will analyze the process of transposition (RAJEWSKY, 2012) of some excerpts from Karen Blixen s novel for her film adaptation. Therefore, our proposal will study the adaptation as apalimpsestintranscoding process (HUTCHEON, 2006). According to all that, we hope to understandthe meaning effects of the medial transposition of the works in focus, critically, opting for a reading path that considers the difference of the topics analyzed and the various objectives and effects of the productive dialogue between the word and the screen.
