This thesis addresses the issue of truth in psychoanalysis. We set out to investigate this issue, the following question: is there a concept of truth in psychoanalysis? To answer the question, we come to two hypotheses: 1.If there is a concept of truth in Freud, he is apprehended through the concept of historical truth as researched in the book Moses and Monotheism (1939), 2. For Lacan, which covers much of the fact that Freud, paradoxically, there is a concept of truth, which leads us to think in a plurality of conceptual truth in Lacan. The route we did with this argument is the testimony of our research to identify the status of truth in psychoanalysis. We deal primarily texts of Freud and Lacan. However, other references were necessary to woo a theme with such complexity, we had to engage with the formulations of Heidegger on Aletheia, with the allegory of Plato's cave, to track references Lacan to speak the truth. Another philosopher who became indispensable to our thesis was Michel Foucault who helped us argue the question of the relationship between knowledge and truth. In order to deepen the theme of truth in Freud, the relationship between symptom and truth is contemplated in our study were chosen to treat obsessive symptom of this issue
