This master s thesis is originated from a research on the ways of seeing and being, undertaken in two school units belonging to different school systems: Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental Visconde de Mauá, in Marechal Hermes, and Colégio Estadual Adalgisa Monteiro, in Rio das Pedras. Both schools belong to FAETEC and SEEDUC school systems, State School systems of Rio de Janeiro. Taking as a starting point broad inquiries, as the meaning of being young, youngsters everyday experiences, their relation with the school definitions, and the reflection about definitions of future, we go through evidences of youth ways of thinking and feeling in their relations with their everyday experiences. We investigate feelings and thoughts belonging to young people from outskirts of the city through classroom experiences and productions, as narratives, collages, drawings, photographic and textual registers. The utterances of group chats, which were converted into images and narratives, were initiated by the exposition to the events in the meetings held at the school itself, especially in the classroom, since it is the setting of our weekly classes.
