Resumo: | The main objective of this research is to discuss the experiences of young people with intellectual disabilities (ID) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), based on their experiences in a university extension course. In this direction, the study also intends to debate the issues that involve the inclusion of people with disabilities in the university space. Eleven young people and adults with ID and ASD took part in the research, with these students participating in the project/extension course. A qualitative approach was used through the methodology of action research, with data collected through records in a field diary and photos, conversation circle and online interviews conducted with the research subjects. In order to understand the impact of the project/extension course, the triangulation of the data collected through these instruments was performed. The analysis of the data and the results obtained allow us to conclude that the experiences in the university space were and are of paramount importance for understanding the relevance and need to think about the inclusion of this public in the university and in other spaces, such as the labor market, and how much these experiences are necessary for the training path of the person with a disability. |

Nessa direção, o estudo pretende também debater as questões que envolvem a inclusão de pessoas com deficiência no espaço universitário. Fizeram parte da pesquisa 11 jovens e adultos com DI e TEA, sendo esses alunos participantes do projeto/curso de extensão. Utilizou-se uma abordagem qualitativa por meio da metodologia da pesquisa-ação, com dados colhidos através de registros em diário de campo e fotos, roda de conversa e entrevistas online realizadas com os sujeitos da pesquisa. A fim de compreender o impacto do projeto/curso de extensão, foi realizada a triangulação dos dados coletados por meio desses instrumentos.
