The thesis analyzed the use of the OTT-RJ network as a tool for urban mobility in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The process of digitization of urban territory was investigated, especially from the point of view of urban violence and fear, when participating in a collaborative media that mainly warns about shootings and the risk of blockades in the streets of Rio. By notifying about these occurrences in real time, the network formed by profiles on social networks and an application prevents users from passing through areas of armed conflict. At the same time, our hypothesis is that the user builds a mental map of the city from these alerts. The thesis worked with the concept of virtual victim (VAZ, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2012) focused on the digital environment. In addition to the network's fan page on Facebook in 2018, 1.072 tweets were analyzed between 2019 and 2020, which ended up revealing the impact on circulation during the covid 19 pandemic and on the incidence of shooting alerts. The thesis had two objectives: to understand how the user of the network related to it and to fear in the city of Rio and how the Twitter profile allowed building a geography of communication of fear, thinking along the lines of the geography of communication.
