Resumo: Through the historical retrieval of the integrative practices of philosophers of science such as Descartes, Galileo, and Newton, this essay suggests that the dichotomy between art and science, reflecting health practices (art of healing / caring for disease science) Of hegemonization of industrial capital and not of science itself, judged as mechanistic and fragmented. Following the movement of the counterculture, which proposes new ways of acting and relating to a society governed by the values of modernity, the Integrative and Complementary Practices in Health present themselves as a way to overcome dichotomies and to reconcile Art and science in health practices. Tai Chi, a Chinese millenarian art that belongs to the category of "corporal practices" in Traditional Chinese Medicine, was the interlocutor of the reconciliation possibilities investigated in the empirical research, which was given to the group "We Conscious" of a Municipal Health Center of Rio Of January-RJ. Through participant observation, interviews and conversations with people who participate in the group and with professionals from the Health Center, in the period between August and November 2016, emerged aspects suggestive of irreconciliations related to health education, culture and management. However, the reconciliations found were manifold, lively, original and only possible because they are on the platform that support them: SUS. In addition to art and science, but from them, reconciliations unfolded to the relationship of Being with oneself, with others, with nature, with the city, and with the Health Center. Circular movements of expansion And recollection, cycle, continuity, change and return, characterize the practice of Tai Chi, whose essence is the interaction and integration of the opposites yin and yang. In this dance of opposites, as well as in health practices, there being friendship, happiness, freedom and multiplicity in unity, there is reconciliation; But if there is no synchronicity, the dance remains unreconciled.

Submitted by Boris Flegr (boris@uerj.br) on 2020-07-05T16:09:14Z No. of bitstreams: 3 dissertacao Isabel Prado completa bloqueada.pdf: 1823147 bytes, checksum: 42efb23187c85da5514c23bc3951f22e (MD5) dissertacao Isabel Prado elementos pre-textuais e introducao.pdf: 492239 bytes, checksum: 6a4136c2b793877c3b5c3cb225df1d5c (MD5) dissertacao Isabel Prado referencias.pdf: 203138 bytes, checksum: 3b14ed2d648f7d8ef78f013c91076544 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2020-07-05T16:09:14Z (GMT).
