For that, the research was Bibliography and field research. Initially the Bibliography about the process of insertion of the work category into the servisse As well as to the controversies arising from this conception. It was Bibliographical research of the category work based on the Marxian reference, In the form of the state of the art, situating the current debate on the nature of Productive or unproductive - in the global cycle of capital, based on the Marxist writers of today. As a reference for meaning analysis Of the work of the social worker, the professional ethical-political project was defined, Highlighting in the analysis, the antagonistic relationship between professional autonomy and alienation. The area chosen for field research was the Policy of Social Assistance, specifically, the Reference Centers for Assistance Of the municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes - CRAS, where 01Professional of each unit - totaling twelve social workers - Participated in structured interviews aimed at Professional considering double character - concrete work / abstract work - of work.
