Resumo: The objective of this work is to analyze the professional path taken by the educator Henriette Amado, with a special cut in the period of her administration at the head of the André Maurois State College (1965-1971). At that moment, he implanted the slogan "freedom with responsibility" (Summerhill) as a political pedagogical project of the school, in the midst of the military dictatorship. This action transmitted a legacy of autonomy, criticality and freedom for the College. As support for such a study, we use the concepts of gender and identity, thus seeking to generate a greater problematization of the questions related to the teaching and the being-teacher. In the methodological scope we use bibliographical research and oral sources (speech of alumni) related to the studied period

Naquele momento implantou o lema liberdade com responsabilidade (Summerhill) como projeto político pedagógico da escola, em plena ditadura civil empresarial militar. Tal ação transmitiu um legado de autonomia, criticidade e liberdade para o Colégio. Como suporte para tal estudo, usamos os conceitos de gênero e identidade, procurando assim, gerar uma maior problematização às questões referentes ao magistério e ao ser-professora.
