This thesis can be understood as an experiment in writing which stiches together reflections, memories, and images concerning the political dimensions of textile arts as historically feminine practices. The work observes actions that point to the strengthening and continuity of historic community projects, whilst, at the same time, denouncing tearing in the fabric of communities produced by modern colonial logic. In its theoretical dimension, central ideas include lines of force from Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, femicide and historical projects from anthropologist Laura Rita Segato, necropolitics from the philosopher Achille Mbembe, and aesthetic-political action from the 28th of May Collective, alongside dialogue with other authors. In its methodological dimension, the research is set in motion around the question of how to create a body of research, whilst simultaneously weaving in criticisms and shifts in relation to norms imposed on research and academic writing in the field of artistic practice. In its practical dimension, the work presents a selection of experiences lived between 2017 and 2020, within artistic residencies held in three different regions of the country. Sewing together of fabric and paper making up the body of the thesis took place during the first year of the COVID 19 pandemic, in Morro da Conceição, Port Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro
