In the present study, humor is foreseen by the communication contract of the comic strips textual genre and is constructed based on the mechanism of bissociation described as the change of meaning from serious to non-serious, carried out by a trigger that can be verbal or non-verbal. Our main objective is to describe the causes responsible for the reversal of meaning in the strips that make up our corpus, verifying which language, between verbal, non-verbal and verbal-visual, predominates in the construction of humor. We take into account in this description the participation of semantic aspects. Sometimes the key to reversal is in the semantic relationship of words. Furthermore, we are interested in the apprehension of humor, which is why we were inspired by the classificatory categories of Travaglia and Charaudeau in conducting the analysis.
