This research aims to investigate the latest configurations of teaching in Brazilian higher education, in public and private sectors, and its connection to the wider conditions of capitalist accumulation, ie, the totality of capitalist relations of production. The work questions the new role that embraces capitalist state, depending on the globalization of capital, and the consequences resulting therefrom for work and teacher training now that the changes in the field of production pose as a requirement to create a new type subject and employee. Examines the notion of competence in relation to control practices that are internalized by the worker through the appropriation of capitalist values in their experiments in the sphere of work. In this context, what is observed is that models of training reinforce the control practices that are internalized by the worker through the appropriation of capitalist values. The study also proposes to examine the privatization of higher education in Brazil. Presents a brief history of higher education in Brazil, emphasizing the legal measures that have driven the expansion of private sector / commercial. Along the way, covers the commercial content of the educational reform of the government Lula da Silva, contextualizes the privatization policies of the higher education system, providing the framework for growth of private institutions / commercial and privatization "in" public institutions. In documental study aimed to ascertain how the work of the teacher in higher education is presented in the work approved for the Annual Meetings of ANPED between 1996 and 2008. The works were analyzed through content analysis theory and the theory of discourse analysis, targeting a critical understanding and ideological discourses investigated. It was found that the texts were questioning teacher training and the resulting focus on professional performance experience of the teacher instead of knowledge, theory and pedagogical training.
