This study aims to analyze the role and usability of digital accessibility devices, designed for the 14th Regional Meeting of ANPEd Southeast, as a support for people with disabilities. This work is guided by the theoretical-methodological assumptions of the historical-cultural theory, which, among other aspects, understands that the subject is constituted in the interweaving of the biological structure with the historical-cultural dimension, considering the dialectical relationship between the subject and the environment. The main concept of the cultural-historical theory addressed in this work is the semiotic mediation that takes place through instruments and signs. This work investigated the accessibility construction of the 14th ANPEd Southeast Regional Meeting by monitoring the work of the Accessibility Committee of this event, the systematization of digital accessibility devices prepared by this committee and conducting interviews with the participants with disabilities of the aforementioned meeting. For the analysis of data constructed throughout the research, we problematized digital accessibility as a human right and the construction of accessibility in the context of the 14th Regional Meeting of ANPEd Southeast. We also analyzed the usability of the devices developed by the accessibility committee in the quest to understand whether this usability helped the autonomy process of these subjects. Considering digital accessibility as a human right and bearing in mind the protagonism of people with disabilities, we understand that the absence of actions to build accessibility in remote academic and scientific environments contributes to the logic of excluding the rights of people with disabilities. After the analysis, we learned that the usability of the devices designed for the 14th Regional Meeting of the ANPEd Southeast was satisfactorily achieved, within the possibilities of promoting digital accessibility and finally, we concluded that in the dialogue about autonomy and social participation, in the usability of the devices of digital accessibility for people with disabilities, it is necessary to have attitudinal accessibility and active listening to the singularities of these people, so that they participate in remote environments and events with autonomy and on equal terms.
