The research of this text aims to expand the studies about the spread of Christianity in medieval Scandinavia, understanding Christianization as a long political, cultural and social process that began with the first contacts of the Norse with the Christians. From historiographical analyzes of the main documents written to study the period, the Icelandic Sagas, we understand the phenomenon of cultural hybridism as a possible alternative to an abrupt conversion of beliefs, in a movement from top to down. The document analyzed in this dissertation dates from the mid-13th century, and is part of the so-called bishops' sagas. Kristni saga allows us to evaluate the process of Christianization in Iceland from various aspects, from the perspective of people in the communities to local leaders and missionaries present in the events of the narratives. The hypotheses raised were discussed and evaluated with the aim, also, of expanding questions that make up cultural history, Scandinavian medieval history, religiosity and the Icelandic sagas in Portuguese, in addition to building even more trails to explore the relevant and growing theme of studies. about the so-called Vikings, Scandinavians and Pagans, as well as their cosmologies and Christianization.
