The present study examines the role and place that is the issue of autonomy in the practice of distance education. This type of education has gone through an increased number of vacancies, demonstrating its importance to society. The research will assess whether procedures are being adapted to different student profiles, virtual space that is now required to interact is leading the student to learn to move with autonomy in learning also. Distance learning eventually meet a growing demand for jobs at graduation, however, the practice has revealed many peculiarities, combined with restrictions and limitations that only empirical research elements that will help in overcoming adversity. One focus of the study is the close relationship of autonomy with distance learning. Being a major component of human development, autonomy can contribute to the overall development of students, allowing different profiles can participate in the construction of knowledge according to their particularities. For it is the discovery that raises the most essential knowledge during learning, it is essential to the construction of knowledge with an in-depth perspective. What was established in our study is the problematic question whether there is a correlation between the distance courses offered and empowerment of the individual. It will also be examined whether the courses taken at a distance are able to promote the development of individual autonomy in any case. In relation to specific goals, autonomy will be compared between the freshmen and senior students in courses taken at a distance. Autonomy is a key element to meet the needs of the very human, to develop all kinds of activities are taken automatically to converge dependence and autonomy. Regardless of the relationship between autonomy and aspects of our existence, we find a remarkable role of the idea in relation to our core activities
