Hoje é dia de Ivete: um estudo sobre a face cordial na construção do self da cantora

This work, which is under the field of the Interactional Sociolinguistics (IS), aims to investigate the construction of the self-image (self) of the singer Ivete Sangalo in three public exposures: the first one, when the singer narrates to a group of unknown people about her comic going to the Chanel s fashion show in Paris; the second one, structured through an interview for the framework Grandes Mulheres, from the program Todo Seu, presented by Ronnie Von, and, finally, an interview conducted by rádio Bahia FM, in the framework Fuzuê de Verão, with the presenters Marcelo Habib and Osmar Marrom. The focus of the analysis fell onto two characteristics that seem very favorable to the mediatic construction of Ivete Sangalo in which the singer, according to the hypothesis presented here, shows herself quite engaged in controlling them during interactions, in which being (i) a formulation and / or the maintenance of the identity of "povão" and (ii) the rejecting of footings that indicates negative feelings or images. For this purpose, I have used the concept of face introduced by Goffman ([1956] 2014; [1963] 2010; [1967] 2011), the studies about cordiality presented by Holanda ([1936], 2014) and revisited by Veloso and Madeira (1989), Da Matta ([1979], 1997, [1984], 1986), Rocha (1998,1995) and Wilson (see CERBINO, 2000, WILSON, 2014, 2017) to verify if the maintenance of the positive face (or self) of the singer ratifies the productivity of the cordiality phenomenon in the conformation and structuring of the profile or "character" of the Brazilian people.
