The propose of this research is provide a reflection on the discourses and practices of Professional Guidance, as an area of knowledge of Psychology, having as methodological contribution the Actor-Network Theory and as inspiration the gestalt approach. We conceive Vocational Guidance, fundamentally, in function of its role as a practice of insertion of the person in the productive world of work. In this sense, our understanding is that Professional Guidance takes on a relevant, essential and political task, given the effects produced by the world of work and the dimension it occupies in human life. We understand that there is an inseparable interweaving between the senses and meanings of work that circulate through hybrid collectives and the act of professional choice. With the contribution of the Actor-Network Theory, we propose that the work dimension is understood as an agent that operates in association with others. Its performance is produced by assembling a set of hybrid and heterogeneous elements that, in a network, generate a multiplicity of ways of acting, ways of choosing and ways of working. With this proposition, we seek to move away from theoretical frameworks that explain the act of professional choice based on paradigms based on the dissociation between person and environment, and on references that start from essentialist, generalist and reductionist models in favor of a broader perspective and, at the at the same time, singularized and supported by the logic of care proposed by Annemarie MOL.
