Resumo: This research presents an investigation on how two associations are structured and articulated: an agroecological one - the Regional Association of Agroecological Producers of the Southwest of Mato Grosso (RAAP) and the other agroextractivist the Regional Association of Extractive Producers of the Pantanal (RAEPP), in their respective social networks, trying to explain the relative success of both. They are located in the Mato-Grossense Southwest Meso-region, in which RAAP belongs to the city of Mirassol D'Oeste / MT and RAEPP to the city of Cáceres / MT. Three conceptual categories were used as support for the proposed research: associativism, social capital and institutional design. The methodology used was that of social networks, composed of two tools: Analysis of Social Networks (ASN), through the software UCINET; and the Questionnaire to measure Community Social Capital (QM-CSC). Ethnographic techniques were also used (structured interviews, in loco visits, informal conversations, observation and listening). The analysis of the data showed that the relative success of the associations in remaining effective in the market is anchored in the existence of significant social capital and in the institutions that represent socially constructed arrangements and strategies that favor the achievement of collective conquests. However, there are own peculiarities to each association, which have na impact on the articulation of each one of them in their respective social networks, showing the differences in their institutional performances as a consequence. It can be inferred that the relations in the structure of the social network of the RAAP are easier to manage and present greater cooperativity, whereas the RAEPP shows more limiting aspects, such as its historical trajectory. However, both have good connectivity with entities outside the State, which provides new partnerships and thus allows the establishment of new opportunities through the exchange of knowledge and experiences. It was also observed that both RAAP and RAEPP have undergone a learning process, either in social or professional level, and this makes all the difference in the segment of family agriculture, in addition to strengthening associativism, demonstrating that it is possible to overcome barriers when there are synergies for achieving common goals

It was also observed that both RAAP and RAEPP have undergone a learning process, either in social or professional level, and this makes all the difference in the segment of family agriculture, in addition to strengthening associativism, demonstrating that it is possible to overcome barriers when there are synergies for achieving common goalsEsta pesquisa apresenta uma investigação sobre como se estruturam e como se articulam duas associações, uma agroecológica a Associação Regional de Produtores Agroecológicos do Sudoeste de Mato Grosso (ARPA) e a outra agroextrativista a Associação Regional das Produtoras Extrativistas do Pantanal (ARPEP), em suas respectivas redes sociais, procurando explicar o sucesso relativo de ambas. No. of bitstreams: 1 Tese_Geni C Figueiredo_Biblioteca_final.pdf: 1630186 bytes, checksum: d343906f9b680abca760aebcb6dfb77f (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-01-06T20:41:21Z (GMT).
