The humanist approach allows the geographer to read, to translate, to understand and to grasp the place through symbols, individuals and social groups that it fall, understanding the world from affection, rejection and even the same lack of interest to them. In this matter, in space s organization men print several marks that can be sources of study. Thus, the monuments are artifacts of great importance for the government as well as to society while perpetuates high achievers subscribing and immortalizing, in its own way, relevant names in religion, politics, classical arts, history and science. However, in recent times, exponents of the popular arts began also to appear in this select honored niche. In this measure, the monuments are part of Rio's landscape and can geographically be interpreted. Therefore, all monuments exist for some reason, cause or circumstance. The presented by this research were born as results of commemorations and celebrations to a musical rhythm, the samba. That said, the samba is celebrating one hundred years this 2016. This thesis amid the chords, rhythms, allegories, props, lines, refrains, drums and beats of this rhythm that merges with the Brazilian soul, celebrates its centenary through the tribute made to producers of popular culture. Such an initiative, having as bearings the centenary of samba, proposes from the phenomenology and hermeneutics to uncover some of the sculptures in the "Marvelous City" (Cidade Maravilhosa) in honor and glory to the artisans of this movement that contribute to perpetuate both in fictional city and in the collective memory, the exponents of this universe immortalized for eternity, in bronze, granite, samba and selfies that once posted and shared on various social networks intend to cross the time for posterity
