This dissertation’s main objective is to inspect the cultural sciences objectivity problem based on how Heinrinch Rickert and, mostly, Max Weber constructed and analysed it. Therefore, the paper initiates by demonstrating the degree of influence of the Rickert's philosophy of science on the epistemological and methodological reflection of Weber. Established how that philosophy determinates and enframe this reflection (formating its fundamental reference framework), the dissertation indicates to what extent Weber distanced himself from Rickert paradigm and, from its own vision about ocidental modernity (this vision being guided by a "diagnosis of the times" that the empirical notion of disenchantment of the world resumes and by a normativity that the responsibility aesthetics synthesizes), puts in original terms the problem of the objective validity of the cultural sciences, giving special highlight to the “empirical proof” and to the (methodological) category of ideal type, understood as necessary form of the historical-cultural scientific thought.
