Resumo: This study analises the trajectory of Aurélia de Souza Braga, in the period between 1930-1945, called the Vargas Era, by their educational practices, political, social, cultural and welfare in the village and district of Belford Roxo, where at that moment was a county of Nova Iguaçu, Baixada Fluminense, state of Rio de Janeiro, bringing to debate her legacy to education in this region. To follow the path taken by the teacher from her life in upstate, searching for traces of her training and participation in the brazilian Integralist Movement, it takes the testimony of twenty storytellers who knew her, and those who, since the arrival of Aurélia de Souza Braga at that city, went through literacy, lived with her, read her scholar journals. Thus, over the four chapters, this study deals with literacy and child care, discusses the pedagogical actions of the teacher and the hybridity of different methods in her practices. Scrutinizes its political culture, the biases of the Socio-anthropology and political anthropology. Concludes that even while not preaching any belief or political doctrine, the brazilian integralist views, catholic, republican and "estadonovistas" guided the actions of Teacher Aurelia as an educational and political mediator in Belford Roxo

Ao percorrer o caminho trilhado pela professora desde sua vida no norte do estado, em busca de vestígios de sua formação e participação no movimento integralista, toma os depoimentos de vinte narradores que a conheceram, e os que, desde a chegada de Aurélia de Souza Braga à cidade, passaram pela alfabetizadora, conviveram com ela, leram o impresso que editou. Assim, ao longo dos quatro capítulos, o estudo trata da alfabetização e da assistência à criança, discute as ações pedagógicas da professora e o hibridismo de diferentes métodos em suas práticas. Perscruta sua cultura política, pelos vieses da socioantropologia e da antropologia política.
