This dissertation analyzed some problems presented in Leonard Mlodinow s book The Drunk Walk . It filled in gaps because it set out to explain the calculation made in the examples proposed by the author. In some cases, the book omitted passages of the utterance, making it difficult to understand what it was intended to show. The main theme is probability. The way it presents itself daily, contrary to the popular imagination that it is possible to distance yourself from mathematics in everyday life. This paper set out to break the paradigm that one must perform calculations to understand probability. Atvarioustimesitispossibletoanalyzesituationsinwhichmathematicsisnotperceived. It was possible to see how intuition can be an ally for understanding probability, but it can harm it on other occasions. It showed how people position themselves in the face of chance. Aswellasthereisevidencethattheydonotunderstandtheconceptofrandomas they seek patterns where there are none. This is the case with the concept of matching . An apparent gain in the cognitive development of the human species that is misused when faced with chance.
