Resumo: This is a qualitative, descriptive study, the object of which is the entrepreneurship-related content developed in undergraduate nursing programs, in the perception of newly graduated nurses. Its general objective is to discuss the importance of entrepreneurship in nurses’ education, and its specific objectives are to identify the contents and methodologies related to entrepreneurship in undergraduate nursing programs in the perception of newly-graduated nurses as well as to analyze the contents and methodologies developed in undergraduate programs as means of fostering nurses’ entrepreneurial capacity. This study was approved by Plataforma Brasil, under number 3.177.935 and CAAE number 06241219.1.0000.5282. Thirty nurses who had graduated from public and private nursing schools and colleges in Rio de Janeiro and other states participated in the study. The data collection instrument was the semi-structured interview, and thematic content analysis was used for data treatment. From the analysis, three categories emerged: limitations and potentialities for entrepreneurship in nursing; entrepreneurship and nursing education: strategy for autonomy and professional visibility; and the entrepreneurial nurse and the possibilities of performing in the working world. It was found that entrepreneurship is a promising possibility for the nursing field, and that little discussion currently occurs on that topic in undergraduate programs. It was also found that the lack of knowledge on the subject generates the small performance by nurses as entrepreneurs, which, therefore, shows the incipience of content in undergraduate programs on the possibilities to undertake in nursing. Additionally, it was observed that entrepreneurial practices in the profession are still few, as for instance: the creation of clinics and products for the nursing field. Thus, it is of utmost importance that the subject of entrepreneurship be addressed in undergraduate nursing programs in the form of a discipline, thus resulting in a consistency of contents and in awakening innovative ways of practicing nursing and performing in the profession.

Tem como objetivo geral: discutir a importância do empreendedorismo na formação do enfermeiro; e como objetivos específicos: identificar os conteúdos e as metodologias relacionados ao empreendedorismo nos cursos de graduação em enfermagem na percepção de recém-egressos e analisar os conteúdos e as metodologias desenvolvidos nos cursos de graduação como meios de fomento da capacidade empreendedora dos enfermeiros. Este estudo foi aprovado pela Plataforma Brasil, sob o número 3.177.935 e CAAE número 06241219.1.0000.5282. Participaram da pesquisa trinta enfermeiros, graduados por escolas e faculdades de enfermagem do Rio de Janeiro e de outros estados, egressos de instituições públicas e privadas. O instrumento de coleta foi a entrevista semiestruturada, e para tratamento dos dados, utilizou-se a técnica de análise temática de conteúdo. A partir da análise, surgiram três categorias: limitações e potencialidades para o empreendedorismo na enfermagem; empreendedorismo e o ensino de enfermagem: estratégia para a autonomia e visibilidade profissional; o enfermeiro empreendedor e as possibilidades de atuação no mundo do trabalho. Verificou-se que o empreendedorismo é uma possibilidade promissora para o campo da enfermagem, que atualmente é pouco discutido nos cursos de graduação. Constatou, ainda, que a escassez de conhecimento sobre a temática gera a pouca atuação dos enfermeiros como empreendedores, destacando-se, portanto, a incipiência de conteúdos durante o curso de graduação sobre possibilidades de empreender na enfermagem. Verificou-se também que as práticas empreendedoras na profissão ainda são poucas, como, por exemplo: a criação de clínicas e produtos voltados para área da enfermagem.
