This dissertation analyzes how intertextuality in literary texts can be recognized by identifying the signs that form the semiotic path and guide the reader to recognize the source text. As the corpus of the present study, we selected the short stories that forms the thirteen insomnia stories, from Hora de Alimentar Serpentes, by Colasanti (2013). The purpose is to find strategies that facilitates the understanding and interpretation of literary texts and, with specific objectives, we seek: (1) to carry out the lexical mapping that would point to the recognition of intertextuality presents these short stories of insomnia; (2) identify and analyze the isotopies underlying the stories, through lexical choices that are producer of meanings, syntagmatic arrangements and signs of these isotopies, which were chosen in Colasanti's communicative project. In the analyzed stories, we found out several possible interpretations from figures of speech rich in interpretive possibilities, various intertextualities and iconics approaches and indexicals as those in charge of those responsible for both internal and external interpretation of those stories. With Verbal Theory, Simões (2019), from the semiotic analysis of léxicon stories, it was possible to prove our initial hypothesis that the interpretation and understanding of the points that are produced in texts with a predominantly poetic function can be clarified to readers and students.
