This research investigated the logic of sexualization by mainly using the theoretical collection of Freud and Lacan. The subject was approached with the aim of understanding how the absence of sexual intercourse is present since the dawn of psychoanalysis, even if the aphorism "there is no sexual relationship" (LACAN, 1972/2003, p.464) had been labored by Lacan later in his teaching time. Freud's early texts, both pre-psychoanalytic as those dealing with the Oedipus complex were consulted, as the oedipal tragedy is conceived as the first mode of the subject to locate themselves in sex, either male or female. The tragedy the myth Totem and Taboo (FREUD, 1912-13/1996) was followed, since it is through the symbolic murder of the father that a man can become virile, and it is also what creates the advent of non-whole to women, because in culture, one will always be interdicted - in that case, the mother. Thus, even if the Oedipus complex is essential for the constitution of the subject as sexual, it is not enough; there is the need for a further step to be taken both for boys and for girls so that they can become men or women. Lacan used the term sexualization and not sexuality, as did Freud. This term bears - rather than submit to the injunctions imposed by the Other or the possible ways out of the Oedipus complex described by Freud an action from the subject in relation to the phallus, the signifier of sex, in order to place itself in the all-phallic or not-all phallic logic. If it is put as all-phallic there will be a man, and if put as not-all there will be a woman, and that is what defines sex, not the anatomy. Once verified the absence of sexual intercourse, Lacan enters the field of love as what is supplementary to the lack of complementarity between the sexes. Supplementary is different to complementary, so that, as much as love has something of a sham, providing often the illusion that there is sexual intercourse, it does not operate a complement between the sexes. So even though the speech being (parlêtre) submits to love, there is no complementarity. Love is one, and men and women will be placed differently in relation to it, a point which is also discussed in the dissertation
