This paper aims to understand the urban dynamics of the Vidigal Favela from the capitalist actions and agents that work there, taking into account the external and macrosocial processes and agents that gave rise to the favela, through the struggles against removal until the emergence of the favela. urbanization projects, security and in the specific case of Vidigal, tourism. From the theory of space production, within the capitalist model, we will seek, together with the urban expansion process of Rio de Janeiro, the dialogue between classical theory and practice, seeking to understand the expansion of the urban vector towards the South Zone, showing Thus, the confluence between various agents, both in the physical production of space and in the construction of an imaginary based on specific signs guided by the class struggle in the fabric of urban space. Starting from the transformation of space into a product of capital interest, we will highlight the inequality of the production process of the urban space of Rio de Janeiro, using the concepts of space value and its work-based production. From this space, seen as a product and process of production of capital's added value, we will join the theory of space production with the reality and spatial expansion of Rio de Janeiro, seeking within this context, the genesis, expansion and reproduction of the favela. . The choice of Vidigal as a spatial cutout seeks to demonstrate such an unequal process of production and reproduction of urban space through its particularities and inequalities, which specifically in this object of great complexity can be seen a wide range of actions and agents, public and private, transforming it into a reference for the analysis of the different relations and scales of space production. The Vidigal placed as an object for an analysis reveals the contradictions and historical transformations in the unequal dynamics of Rio's urban expansion, which has one of its main products in the favela. These contradictions, guided by the class struggle, materialize in Vidigal through attempts at removal and more recently in initiatives and actions related to planning, urbanization and security, which, in a way, by modifying pre-established ideas, potentiate the emergence of new ones. agents that, with their investments, especially those related to tourism, modify the established spatial reproduction structure, bringing new meanings and impacts to the daily life of the favela and the resident.
