For the most part, Hilda Hilst' work was kept for years in a limbo, neglected by the public and the media on one side, which had eyes only for her obscene tetralogy, and the academia's refusal of taking her seriously enough to study her for the reference in brazilian literature that she was. In her many dialogues with the foundations of literature, Hilda Hilst reached excellence precisely in the literary genre in which she began her career: poetry. It has been identified in Hilda's poetry a special way of picturing love that is analogous to courtly love, which took place in the Middle Age and still reverberates in the present. We aim to examine the ways in which the categories of love and the feminin intertwine, based in psychoanalytic theory. To reach this goal we delve into several classic and contemporary authors who play brilliantly with courtly love and explain it to us, with its adoration of the Lady (in Hilst' case, a Sir), who is unattainable and thus points to the irrepresentable of the human experience with das Ding and the Woman. Taking off from the enigma presented to us by their art, we try to understand these categories through the framework given to us by psychoanalysis, from Freud and Lacan. We address how the concept of feminin is presented in psychoanalytic theory, going through psychic bisexuality, the Oedipus Complex and the quantum formulas of sexuation, aiming to distinguish feminin from femininity and woman. In Lacan's theory about love, we gather that the position of lover is associated with the feminin and the position of loved is associated with the masculin, something that is clear also in Hilda's poetry.
