A relação entre trabalho doméstico, valor e capitalismo dependente: uma crítica à luz da teoria da reprodução social

This master thesis aims to relate the Marxist theoretical-methodological approach and the capitalist totality with the social reproduction of the workforce and, more specifically, with domestic labour. In light of the feminist social reproduction theory (SRT), I seek to explain how domestic labour impacts on the production of value and on the determination of the value of the workforce. And yet, how it relates to the contradictory unity between production and social reproduction, pursuing a theoretical definition not only of work carried out for free within family homes, but also of paid domestic labour. I argue that the investigation of this connection is fundamental to define the theoretical bases of the social relations of oppression of gender, race and sexuality in capitalism. I also present debates, within critical feminist theory,on the connection between domestic labour, value and productive work, by dialoguing with authors of the campaign “Wages for Housework".I also examine the relationship between domestic labour, patriarchy and capitalism, by dialoguing with materialist feminists. I relate this debate to the process of primitive accumulation and the formation of families in the constitution of capitalism. Finally, I bring considerations about the process of formation of dependent capitalism,in order to establish the connection between the overexploitation of the work force and social reproduction, in light of the contribution of the Marxist Dependency Theory (TMD) and SRT, explaining the impacts under the sexual and racial division of labour.
