This dissertation aims to investigate the narratives produced by one of the leading voices of the right wings of Brazil in the 1950s and 1960s: the liberals from the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo. Even if the identification of the newspaper with the party of the National Democratic Union (UDN) has been documented by other works, ascertaining the functioning of the material on the Cuban Revolution is valid, viewing of the impact of the same in the Latin American region, as well as the extent to which such identification developed. The research addressed the newspaper's positioning over the years of 1958 and 1961, evaluating possible relations between the narratives presented by a newspaper identified with the political culture of udenismo , the national party-political context and the actual role played by a large press that was beginning its business stage in Brazil.
