Manifestações da violência na literatura finissecular de Raul Brandão, em Portugal pequenino

The following research analysis of several violent manifestations on the child-young book Portugal pequenino (1970), from the Portuguese writer Raul Brandão and his wife Maria Angelina. The book denounces the power relations between societies and nations, giving voice to the less favored ones. On his narrative, Brandão sympathizes with the less fortuned ones and criticizes the abuses suffered by this part of society. In order to make a contextualized analysis of this book with the historical-social period on wich Portugal is inserted and on wich the author problematizes, from the end of XIX century up to the begin of the XX century, using some scholar approaches, such as Vitor Viçoso (1999), Eduardo Lourenço (1999) (2016) (2018) and José Hermano Saraiva (1984). The studied book presents several violence manifestations and three types of them are frequent: economical, psychological and physical violence. As a theoretical support for the study of violence, it is used as contribution the work from Bourdieu (1989), Minayo (2006), Karl Marx (2008) and concept and analysis of the Word Health Organizations (WHO). The main character, Russo de Má Pelo, a boy that can be understood such as cruel and curious, is present in the majority of this aggressive manifestations, which have been analysed comparatively to the previous studied violent typologies.
