A Carreira docente na educação básica da rede estadual de ensino do Rio de Janeiro: embates, trajetória e perspectivas

Study the current situation of Brazilian education and how public policy teaching career were built is important in order to establish new areas of action and struggle for better working conditions and pay. Everyone recognizes the importance of teachers for quality education, but it is still a challenge for educational policies to ensure adequate professional development. This research is analyzed in the teacher's career in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The main goal is to understand how structured the career of public school teachers in the state of Rio de Janeiro and that the constituent elements of career today. The study is qualitative, conducted through literature searches and document analysis. The main sources used are legislative documents of the federal and state levels of government, government documents authored the State of Rio de Janeiro, as government management reports, and the Department of Education; reports of official bodies collection and systematization of data, such as the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and the National Institute of Educational Studies Teixeira (INEP), among others). In addition, they are also analyzed documents produced by the union of the teaching category in the state and by the Confederation of Education Workers. As a theoretical framework to analyze the data, we refer especially to authors who discuss the Brazilian educational policy and Saviani, Frigotto, Ciavatta and Cury, aimed at teaching policies and the quality of education, as Oliveira, Enguita, Nóvoa and Gatti, the Rio de Janeiro state education, as Xavier, Najjar and Faria, and, more specifically, policies that focus on work and teaching career in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
