Resumo: This work presents the different characteristics of Colombia and how the existence of a great variety of cultures has developed a genuine wealth and source for the creation of diverse creative activities. So these creative activities can, when directed, become the basis of the creative industries. And that may be the solution for some regions of the country where there is no significant development of the tertiary sector: the industrial sector. An example is the furniture sector where the purpose of this work is to emphasize and unite the theory and practice of Industrial Design to the Colombian furniture industry, especially in southern Colombia, observing and classifying the creative potential and local resources. Thus, the main objective of this work is: (I) to reorient design didactics, useful for the training of future industrial designers. The secondary objectives are particularly oriented to the local furniture industry, since it seeks to: (II) update the value of this industry as a strong candidate for the development of the tertiary sector; (III) encourage that local industries, in the image of furniture factories, have more enthusiasm and determination in the hiring of Industrial Design professionals. This work presents four Chapters: in Chapter I, the work is based on highlighting the Colombian economy and creative industries. Chapter II focuses on showing the context of Colombian Design, as well as its history and evolution, as well as showing the first approximations of industrial design in Colombia, its first academic programs and the events that mark the incubation of industrial design in Colombia. In Chapter III, data are presented that help to know the manufacturing sector and how the sector of the furniture industry contributes to the economy of Colombia, vocational education or vocational education of furniture designers, supported by the collection of courses that allow the formation of workforce and professionals for the furniture sector. Finally, in Chapter IV, is presented a proposal that can help the teaching of product design oriented to the furniture, with emphasis on the integration between the theoretical base and the practice of Industrial Design to the furniture industry, observing and utilizing the potential of local resources of the Southern region of Colombia. This work has as central proposal to be able to help and to give an example to the students of industrial design Colombian, who have the interest to earn a living working in this sector, as well as to understand and to learn its role in the industry.

Submitted by Boris Flegr (boris@uerj.br) on 2021-01-05T19:58:26Z No. of bitstreams: 1 John _FINAL.pdf: 5464128 bytes, checksum: 343dc817e419e852df0d937443192b31 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-01-05T19:58:26Z (GMT).
