Resumo: In the last decades, the concept has become a differential of design. The conceptual design, however, expects mental ability and philosophical attitude facing projects besides technical ability alone. This way it is necessary an exercise from designers and learners of design so that they can notice the meanings, the tendencies, the ideas of a business or generator group, the ideology of a segment of society or even the beliefs of certain culture. Peirce"™s semiotics, as a subject that deals with signs, can serve as a theoretical-scientific-philosophical support for the visual reading process of products that are part of everyday life.

Nas últimas décadas, o conceito passou a ser um diferencial do design. O design conceitual, no entanto, prevê, além de uma habilidade técnica, uma habilidade mental e uma postura filosófica diante dos projetos. Para tanto é necessário um exercí­cio por parte dos designers e aprendizes de design, no sentido de perceber as significações, as tendências, as idéias de um grupo empresarial ou gerador, a ideologia de um seguimento da sociedade ou até do pensamento de uma determinada cultura.
