Resumo: Possibilities of wastewater use for living with drought in the Brazilian semiarid region shows possible solutions for human use on region. Thus, the main goal of this research was to analyze which are the most appropriate and feasible practices for the use of water from domestic sewage in the municipality of Serra Negra do Norte/RN. To make it, a bibliographic and documentary survey are made and fieldwork, including technical visits to the municipal water supply office, the Sewage Treatment Station - STP and the strategic areas with potential of water reuse, both in rural and urban areas of the municipality. After the methodological steps, it was possible to detect that some uses of the water coming from the STP have already been performed in the rural area of the municipality of Serra Negra do Norte. The plantations of elephant grass existing in the areas benefiting from residuary water irrigation are mainly intended for medium and large farmers in the rural area and this can be extended to small farmers if there is the possibility of extending the distribution system of this effluent. It was also possible to verify that in the urban area of Serra Negra do Norte, many squares could be contemplated with treated sewage. However, we highlight the care that should be taken when using water from STP.

However, we highlight the care that should be taken when using water from STP. Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (UERN)2020-08-31info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion Peer reviewed Revisado por paresAvaliado pelos paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.apps.uern.br/index.php/GEOTemas/article/view/2415Journal Geotemas; Vol. 10 No. 2 (2020): Revista Geotemas; 157-172Revista Geotemas; Vol. 10 Núm. 2 (2020): Revista Geotemas; 157-172Revista Geotemas; v. 10 n. 2 (2020): Revista Geotemas; 157-1722236-255Xreponame:Revista Geotemasinstname:Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (UERN)instacron:UERNporhttps://periodicos.apps.uern.br/index.php/GEOTemas/article/view/2415/2218Copyright (c) 2020 Revista Geotemasinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessCosta , Eulália Dantas da Souza, Sara Fernandes Flor de Moreira , Marianna Fernandes Lucena , Rebecca Luna 2020-09-16T16:31:51Zoai:ojs2.periodicos.apps.uern.br:article/2415Revistahttp://periodicos.apps.uern.br/index.php/GEOTemas/indexPUBhttp://periodicos.apps.uern.br/index.php/GEOTemas/oaigeotemas@uern.br||josielguedes@yahoo.com.br2236-255X2236-255Xopendoar:2020-09-16T16:31:51Revista Geotemas - Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (UERN)false
