The readings space of children and the reading of spaces by children: the case of a CMEI in Natal-RN

Resumo: This article aims to analyze the spaces of reading and the reading the spaces of the children, from a critical perspective. For this purpose, methodological procedures were performed: interviews, systematic observations and photographic records. These research instruments were used with children of Level IV of Preschool of a Municipal Center of Childhood Education (CMEI) located in Capim Macio, Southern Zone of the city of Natal, RN, Brazil. The results show that children often reduce reading to reading of words. Few can perceive the act of reading as reading the world. Majority of them restrict their spaces of reading to school and home. For other children, reading goes through spaces: "under the bed, everywhere, on the tables of the room and in the bed". Reading the world of children shows that most of them do not have the support of family members at home for the act of reading the word. This fact increases the importance of the teachers of the schools in working the act of reading the word and the world. We defend the thesis that how bigger the habit of reading the word, how bigger the diversity of children's spaces of reading, major quantitatively and qualitatively the reading they will have of the world, the reading of space. However, the text and context of the children studied, which is the socioeconomic situation of must Brazilians children, the reading of the word and the reading spaces are restricted.

Para ello, se realizaron como procedimientos metodológicos: entrevistas, observaciones sistemáticas y registros fotográficos. Estos instrumentos de investigación se utilizaron con niños del Nivel IV de Educación Infantil de un Centro Municipal de Educación Infantil (CMEI) ubicado en el barrio de Capim Macio, Zona Sur de la ciudad de Natal, RN. Los resultados muestran que los niños generalmente reducen el acto de leer a la lectura de la palabra. Pocos consiguen percibir el acto de leer como lectura del mundo. La mayorí­a de ellas restringen sus espacios de lectura a la escuela ya la residencia. Para otros niños, la lectura atraviesa espacios: "debajo de la cama, en todas partes, en las mesas de la sala y en la cama". La lectura del mundo de los niños muestra que la mayorí­a de ellas no tienen el apoyo de los familiares en casa para el acto de leer la palabra. Tal hecho, aumenta la importancia de las profesoras de las escuelas en trabajar el acto de leer la palabra y el mundo. Defendemos la tesis de que cuanto mayor es el hábito de leer la palabra, cuanto mayor sea la diversidad de espacios de lectura de los niños, mayor será cuantitativamente y cualitativamente la lectura que ellas tendrán del mundo, la lectura del espacio. Pero el texto y el contexto de los niños investigados, que es la situación socioeconómica de la mayorí­a de los niños brasileños, el acto de leer la palabra y los espacios de lectura son restringidos.Este artigo objetiva analisar os espaços de leitura e a leitura dos espaços das crianças, a partir de uma perspectiva crí­tica. Para tal fim, foram realizados como procedimentos metodológicos: entrevistas, observações sistemáticas e registros fotográficos. Esses instrumentos de pesquisas foram utilizados com crianças do Ní­vel IV da Educação Infantil de um Centro Municipal de Educação Infantil (CMEI) localizado no bairro de Capim Macio, Zona Sul da cidade de Natal, RN. Os resultados mostram que as crianças geralmente reduzem o ato de ler à leitura da palavra. Poucas conseguem perceber o ato de ler como leitura do mundo. A maioria delas restringem seus espaços de leitura à escola e à residência. Para outras crianças, a leitura atravessa espaços: na cama de casa, embaixo da árvore, na mesa da sala da escola. A leitura do mundo das crianças mostra que a maior parte delas não tem o apoio dos familiares em casa para o ato de ler a palavra. Tal fato, aumenta a importância dos educadores infantis em trabalhar o ato de ler a palavra e o mundo. Quanto maior o hábito de ler a palavra, quanto maior for a diversidade de espaços de leitura das crianças, maior será quantitativamente e qualitativamente a leitura que elas terão do mundo, a leitura do espaço.
